Do you have a skilled coach?

Udgivet d. 31. March 2024

The term coaching is a widely used title, – it is difficult to know if a coach is skilled.

Why choose an ICF accredited coach?

If you are looking for a coach who can offer you expertise, integrity, commitment and experience, look for a coach who is certified through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

An ICF-certified coach is obliged to maintain high professional standards and live up to the ICF’s code of ethics. You can be confident that you are working with a professional who is dedicated to your success and development.

ICF accreditation

There are specific requirements for an ICF certification. The coach must complete ICF-accredited training courses, be examined in mastery of the ICF’s coaching core competencies and pass both an oral and written exam. This requires many hours of practice and a deep understanding of the complex dynamics of coaching, and finally you must have practiced coaching clients.

An ICF certified coach can achieve accreditation at three levels:

  • Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with over 100 hours of experience,
  • Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with over 500 hours of experience,
  • Master Certified Coach (MCC) with over 2500 hours of experience.

Each level requires the coach to master his coaching skills at an even deeper and higher level.

Recertification

An ICF accredited coach at ACC, PCC and MCC level must continuously keep his knowledge up-to-date, and must undergo re-certification every three years to ensure continued sharpness and quality of his skills.

As a competent ICF accredited coach, becoming, remaining and developing into an even better coach is a continuous and enriching journey.

ICF Globally and in the EU

ICF is a globally recognized organization that has over 55,000 members worldwide, of which 51,000 are certified.

Among many other coach educations, ICF is one of the very few that is approved by the EU as an approved, independent education.

My ICF accreditation

I have now passed the oral exam at PCC level, and have an upcoming written exam through which I will obtain ACC accreditation. Once I have accumulated practical experience of at least 500 hours, I can obtain PCC accreditation.
